We recommend submitting production-ready artwork in one of the following formats. For straightforward DTF printing, a high-quality PNG with a transparent background is often the easiest option.

Excellent for scalable vector illustrations, logos, and typography.
Useful for vector-based artwork when exported correctly.
Photoshop documents with properly prepared layers and artwork.
Editable source files are helpful if adjustments are required.

📏 Image Resolution Requirements
To achieve crisp, professional-looking transfers, aim for approximately 300 pixels per inch (PPI) at your intended final print size.

- Approximately 300 PPI at final print dimensions
- Sharp, clearly defined edges
- Original design files when available
❌ Avoid
- Screenshots and web thumbnails
- Social media images saved at low resolution
- Pixelated or blurry logos
- Small images enlarged far beyond their original size
Changing a file's DPI setting to 300 does not automatically create more image detail. The actual pixel dimensions must support your desired physical print size.
For example, an 11-inch-wide design needs approximately 3,300 pixels of width to reach 300 PPI.
🪟 Transparent Backgrounds Matter
DTF printing can reproduce background elements included in your artwork. Anything you don't want printed should be removed before submitting your file.

- Use a truly transparent background
- Remove unwanted background colors
- Inspect edges for unwanted halos
- Verify that white areas are intentional
❌ Avoid This
- Unwanted white rectangles
- Solid backgrounds that aren't part of the design
- Watermarks or stray artwork
- Screenshots with flattened backgrounds
💡 PRO TIP: A gray-and-white checkerboard in design software typically indicates transparency. A white-colored background is not the same thing as a transparent background.
🌈 Preparing Colors for DTF Printing
Digital screens use RGB light, while DTF printing relies on ink-based color reproduction. As a result, some colors may look different when printed.
CMYK is a common commercial printing color model, but many DTF production workflows accept RGB artwork and handle color conversion through their RIP software.
For best results: Keep a copy of your original design file, use consistent colors, and confirm the preferred color mode with DTF Rush Orders before converting your artwork.
If your order or production instructions specifically require CMYK, review your colors carefully after conversion.
Neon, fluorescent, and highly saturated colors may not reproduce exactly as they appear on a monitor, phone, or tablet. Exact color matching is not guaranteed.
✂️ Prepare Artwork at the Correct Size
Whenever possible, create your design at the exact dimensions you want it printed. This helps avoid unnecessary scaling and quality loss.

Adjust to the garment and design
These are common reference sizes, not mandatory dimensions. Actual sizing depends on the garment, artwork, and desired appearance.

Before submitting your design, zoom in and check every detail. Small issues on your screen can become noticeable once printed.

- Proper dimensions
- Correct background transparency
- All design elements present

- Missing or cropped elements

📝 Text & Font Requirements
If your artwork includes lettering or typography, make sure the fonts display correctly before submitting the file.
For vector files: Convert text to outlines or curves when appropriate to prevent font substitution.
For raster artwork: Export your final design at high resolution so the text is rendered cleanly and accurately.
Keep an editable original with live text in case you need to make corrections later.

Common vector formats: AI, EPS, PDF, and SVG. Files containing embedded raster images may still depend on those images' original resolution.
